For Greater Appeal, Consider a Peel

Troubled by sun-damaged, hyperpigmented, wrinkled or acne-prone skin? A chemical peel is a fast, non-invasive, inexpensive way to reveal smoother, firmer, more radiant skin. With a chemical peel, you’ll be ready to bare beautiful, new skin this spring.

What is a chemical peel?

chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing technique that uses a chemical solution to remove dead skin cells, allowing new, healthier skin to emerge. Chemical peels vary in aggressiveness, from light and medium strength peels with minimal recovery time to deeper peels that have more significant results, but may require one to two weeks for healing.

A chemical peel can be applied to the entire face or specific areas, such as the crow’s feet, to remove the top layers of skin. Results are noticeable after just one application, but regular peels are a great way to achieve sustained, long-lasting results.

What are the benefits of a chemical peel?

Chemical peels can treat a variety of skin issues, including:

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Sun damage, discoloration and brown spots
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne and acne scars
  • Rough texture
  • Melasma

Chemical peels at Anderson MedSpa

At Anderson Plastic Surgery and MedSpa, we offer a variety of peels formulated by renowned dermatologist and skincare expert Dr. Zein Obagi. These peels range in intensity from light to deep and vary in their results, recovery time and cost.

Light: Obagi Radiance Peel

Our Obagi Radiance Peel is great for anyone with normal-to-oily skin who wants smoother, firmer, brighter-looking skin. This exfoliating, salicylic-acid-based peel clears congestion, minimizes pores and makes the skin look healthier with little to no downtime. The Radiance Peel may cause mild flaking, but you can continue your regular skincare and akeup routine on the day of treatment, plus it’s only $135!

Medium: ZO 3-Step Stimulation Peel

Our ZO 3-Step Stimulation Peel is more aggressive than the Radiance Peel and can substantially change the appearance of the skin. This peel is designed to treat sun spots, discoloration, acne, fine lines, rough texture, large pores and dullness. Step 1 is the peel itself, while Steps 2 and 3 involve retinol and calming creams. “The most unique thing about the 3-Step Stimulation Peel is that post treatment peeling is very mild or even unnoticeable in many cases, as most of the dead cells are removed by the twice daily washing following the peel. There is minimal or no downtime with this peel, and your skin will look healthier very quickly,” says Dr. ObagiSome people may require up to ten days for healing. This peel costs $250.

Deep: ZO Controlled Depth Peel

Our deepest, most aggressive peel is the ZO Controlled Depth Peel, also known as Dr. Obagi’s “Blue Peel.” This peel is fantastic for treating deep lines and wrinkles, severe sun-damage, discoloration and hyperpigmentation, and the overall effects of aging. Patients should allow on to two weeks for full recovery. Some patients will do a series of treatments, but most see very visible results from just one treatment. This peel costs $450.
