SkinMedica’s Solution for Younger, Healthier Skin: Vitalize and Rejuvenize Peels

Want smooth, radiant looking skin? SkinMedica chemical peels can work similarly to a reset button for your skin. A chemical peel aims to accelerate skin exfoliation, which results in renewed, healthier looking skin and more uniform complexion. At Anderson Plastic Surgery and MedSpa, we can treat mild-to-severe skin imperfections with our new SkinMedica Vitalize and Rejuvenize Peels.

Who can benefit from SkinMedica Peels?

If you are looking to treat the visible skin imperfections that result from skin aging and sun exposure or any skin tone unevenness caused by acne scarring or pigmentary changes, then SkinMedica Peels may be right for you. Both the Vitalize and Rejuvenize Peels help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and treat uneven skin tone and roughness. This is because the renewal process stimulates collagen production, improves pigmentation, acne and melasma, resulting in healthier and more youthful looking skin!

Key Benefits

  • Helps provide vibrant, radiant looking skin with minimal downtime
  • Smooths the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and roughness
  • Noticeable results after just one peel, compelling results after three to six peels

Which SkinMedica Peel is Most Beneficial for You?

Figuring out the chemical peel that will be most beneficial for you depends upon the severity of your skin condition, as determined by a licensed medical professional.

Vitalize Peel

The Vitalize Peel is most beneficial for those with mild skin imperfections and works well to even pigmentation, correct minor blemishes, and erase fine wrinkles, acne scars, and sun damage. It is one of the most gentle and comprehensive SkinMedica chemical peels, making it appropriate for all skin types and tones. This peel can be repeated every three to four weeks.

Rejuvenize Peel

For moderate-to-severe skin imperfections, the Rejuvenize Peel may be more appropriate. Although this peel can be performed on those with dark skin, patients with deeply pigmented skin color should receive the Vitalize Peel first. After tolerability is established, they can receive the Rejuvenize Peel, which can be repeated every four to six weeks.

During your initial consultation at Anderson Plastic Surgery and MedSpa, we will determine the severity of your skin condition and recommend the appropriate peel regimen based on your needs.

What to Expect During the Procedure

Both the Vitalize and Rejuvenize Peels are expected to take 45 minutes. The complete treatment allows for ample time to address any questions you may have, and discuss your post-peel care. The actual application procedure is approximately 20 minutes.

As always, tolerance to the procedure varies from patient to patient. After a mild pinching sensation upon initial application, you may experience tingling or burning sensations, which are completely normal, expected reactions.

Post-Peel Results

After either of these SkinMedica peels, your skin may have a yellowish tinge that lasts no longer than two to three hours. As with any type of chemical peel procedure, mild to moderate redness is expected; the extent of redness varies from patient to patient. The face may appear redder than usual for some time after the treatment but completely resolves once the peeling is complete.
